The more I look at this, the weirder it gets. When we add in “reaction” data, we actually have LESS orphaned casts. Orphaned casts are casts that get zero engagement (no likes, no replies) and it used to hold at about 80%, but now it’s DOWN to 70% (meaning more casts are getting engagement). Has quality on the network improved by 10%? If so, maybe that’s a win?

Yeah, it's not the first time i see this pattern in my data, casts and active users stable or slightly decreasing, with engagement increasing at the same time:
