My next hip hop story is something I learned hanging out with G Unit on Sept 10, 2007 but work is now getting in the way of my storytelling.

I always try to support my friends in whatever they do. If they publish a book or an album or a product, I buy it to support. This has been stuck in my brain since meeting G Unit in 2007. I can't really remember who was there on my own team let alone G Unit's which included managers, rappers and entourage.

9/10/2007 was the night before Curtis dropped and Kanye was dropping Graduation. They had a beef that whoever sold fewer records would retire. I asked a lot of naive questions that night but the very first one was "would 50 really retire?" They just looked at me and said No this is marketing.

They promo'd those albums so hard and 50 was doing a press circuit all day. One of those stops was in Second LIfe for a project I was EP'ing (see his avatar below). He did the interview poolside in Vegas and we were in NY with some of his team. 

After the interview we were just hanging out and I asked what they were up to next and they said they were waiting to go to Tower Records to buy his album at 12:01 AM...
