If you didn’t skate in the early 2000s, you might not know how much resistance we faced back then. Skaters dealt with a lot of hate, but it made us tougher and more united.

I also enjoy skating, but a friend recently broke his leg from a bad fall, and I’ve been scared to skate since then

Yeah, I skate occasionally, but I used to be out there every day after school for hours. Those were the best times, just hitting up spots with friends. Falling on concrete so much takes a toll, though. If I skated now, it’d probably just be for carving or a mini ramp session.
