I think “threads” are a legit construct for Microblogging (for want of a better word) platforms and I think Twitter’s model is superior to Farcaster’s.

if you can break it down, what would be your ideal model? (some combination of both? something not considered? or does twitter check all the boxes?)

I like the idea of more silent threads with a fish hook message at top but probably agree that the navigation and display is spatially awkward (haven't settled on it, unlearning is always awkward)

Twitter flattens threads (at least at the top level) rather than forcing you to drill down into each reply like Farcaster’s UI does (it presents this way on Tweetbot, and it’s similar in the web UI I think, but I don’t usually use that.) This is much quicker to navigate.
