from what I've seen, the reason bluesky was whipped up into rage was due to a few influencers trying to bait as many people as possible (including the initial trolling). they & their audience aren't using the algo, they're using grassroots "bush telegraph" technique.

oh, I definitely agree with your point, bluesky is very poorly designed for the dialectical. everyone just spends time making hot dogmatic takes, then block & ostracize contrarian pushback as much as possible. unfortunately, all they have is a single bottleneck algo + whatever echo chamber the user wanted before.

I wish that was normie-compatible. saw a bunch of a "I'm not the developer, but it should be easy to..." and I can see why bluesky can get dragged by such ungrounded sentiment in the long run. maybe the RYOA tooling gets good enough, I'm still hopeful that can be popularized.
