Tonight my 60+ year old father-in-law asked me to help get him setup with Crypto (he’s always trying to learn the latest stuff; super smart guy). Got him setup with the Coinbase wallet in less than 2 mins, sent him some USDC on Base for free, and sent him an NFT. This is the way. 🔵

A physical disk would be amazing 😂 but lowkey the Coinbase wallet is essentially that

Discs but they just have QR codes - you scan them with CBW and claim NFTs/USDC. Imagine.

AOL disk were the masses first chance to use the internet. Maybe it should have CB wallet link, loaded address, ENS ready to set, easy social recovery ready to link with other disks, walk throughs on how to use the wallet, chain, and dapps.

To be fair I think we need some account abstraction stuff - paymasters etc. if you onboard via disc someone can sponsor your gas or first few actions.

Very true; I think it could be done as sponsorships in a way. For instance, you could buy a $10 disk to give someone that had $8 in crypto and the rest is used to handle gas or something like that

You’d get 150 hr of internet with your AOL disk. Then you had to get another. With the current on/off ramp difficulty, maybe crypto “gift cards” arn’t such a bad idea.

The nostalgia opportunity here is boundless folks - bachelor(ette) parties, wedding gifts, anniversaries, corporate gifts. CD not required - we can just injection mold some of those clear spacers and drop QR codes on labels!

Regulations has gotta be the trickiest part for sure. There’s a reason you can’t buy a crypto gift card and why exchanges have KYC 😵‍💫
