Ever since Reddit did the thing, I uninstalled my favorite client (Apollo). Since I don’t have it on my phone and didn’t replace I just browse Reddit a lot less (still use it for search but not discovery). Am I alone? Seems bad for Reddit lol

Same. I've cut down my time on Reddit by... 80%? Their native app is not very fun to browse.

Also ditched my 10+ year, high-karma Reddit account upon losing Apollo. I miss it but also healthily cut down on mindless doomscrolling. Now trying my luck in the Fediverse, and over here of course.

similar sentiments, though ironically my Reddit use started dwindling before I even heard about any of their latest antics. I'm still not even fully aware of the intricacies of what happened. But much like what @pfista said, of the bit I did hear, it surely struck me as unfortunately odd... Elon's Twitter plays too.

They probably forced a lot of power users off their platform without even realising. They should’ve just hired Christian, honestly.

Happened to me too. I get why they did it but feels like it was pretty haphazardly implemented and will lead to a lot of people leaving reddit

It’s not great. I remember reading a comment on there called the “sad reality of Reddit” that summarized how they don’t need niche groups talking about fixing their 80’s tape decks, etc, but instead want “meme” up voters to feed their ad Algo’s. I tried to find it, but it’s been deleted. Oh well.
