fallacy. People that work hard hardly do it for rewards (if you mean financial), that's short sighted and actually rewarding too much leads to entitlement. I know people making 1M TC working 30h weeks who think they're not paid enough If i compare to other disciplines (law, medecine), my surgeon and lawyer friends all work harder on average.

I think mediocre devs are rewarded too much and smart hard working devs are rewarded too little. In terms of status, $, human things.
