Source Control, Debug Console, Terminal stuff, and fuzzy search are all useful to me lol I must be a crazy person :) (I’m doing C/C++ at the moment so yeah I need a lot of information: how clang is behaving, in-IDE debugger, source control for tracking my progress & submodules, etc..)

Interesting - I just tuned all of this out and only noticed it once you pointed it out. I mostly don’t want to stray too far from whatever the core language devs use because you are then at the mercy of the editor ecosystem.

I really hope Zed steps up their AI game very quickly. The speed and simplicity makes it a way better experience than Cursor/VSCode.

VS Code's packed with too much clutter right out of the box it’s a mess to look at and not great for focus. Sure, you can tweak it to clean things up, but it still feels like bloatware. Sometimes, keeping it simple with a lighter editor is just the way to go.
