You know, I can actually see this, given bird flu gets inactivated at the same temp you need to cook chicken to — 165 degrees. So they could say that and do that and also not intentionally sicken people (unless you’re an egg slonker or a raw cookie dough eater)

idk if that’s even a viable solution for them, it looks like avian flu has a ~90% mortality rate for chickens (cdc ref) so even if they stop culling that won’t significantly help egg production and probably exacerbate the issue https://www.cdc.gov/bird-flu/virus-transmission/avian-in-birds.html
