Have seen a few casts recently on how we should attract more developers to Farcaster

In talking to developers building on Farcaster today—and developers who built on Farcaster previously and then stopped—the top request is more users.

Why more users?
- More users on Farcaster means more people to potentially use their product
- If the product is a business, more usage means more opportunity to make money
- Acquiring users for an app or service is *really* hard

attracting users from X to Farcaster is a process

it'll take many people, and a lot of growth - individual projects succeeding, people yapping about them, users learning 

I never liked "cast" because it was another foreign term, I told dan that and he explained the rationale. I understood but didn't believe. 

been nice seeing people sharing warpcast links on x, and getting asked questions like this over there

on a longer time frame I'm a convert 

although I use "post" as a filler frequently because most folks do not know about farcaster *yet* and cast would confuse them

it's a nice example of a brand copy guidelines

wherever folks anywhere on the internet now or irl say cast you know they're talking about farcaster

if you were to say post folks would get confused as to where exacly are you talking about

the more economic activity happening on FC, the more twitter users from CT will come over. slowly then all at once.

The elephant in the room is the $3-5-any amount signup cost. 

imo FC is going to tread water until they finally subsidize that and attack the churn head on

even if you refunded the money later on a normal person is not going to pay to use a niche social website that (to them) is worse than Twitter.
