Degen, Moxie, and Clanker have done very little in terms of bringing new users + “interesting content” to Farcaster..

They most certainly have filled the bags of existing users.. which leads to very bad/biased takes around their efficacy re: growing Farcaster’s userbase

Ive only heard claims about degen onboarding users, which is well backed up by the data I’ve seen, unless you attribute it to frames?

Moxie I haven’t heard any claims about onboarding or retention

I also haven’t seen any claims about Clanker besides obvious spike of attention, which is hard to get confident about 22 days in.

people come for one reason, meet people, stick around. I always try to engage with users, even if they're being rude or annoying to some degree. drives me insane sometimes though lol. 

I know our metrics just can't extrapolate. most of our buyers seem to come from X? large chinese user base as well!

I think agents and Clanker have laid the groundwork potentially…

There are more than 21K accounts with 🎩 in their display names

Vast majority of said paid accounts should not be accounted for in DAU, as they do not represent unique users of the protocol

They exist merely to astroturf support for $degen, seeking to make the community appear larger than reality reflects
