Degen, Moxie, and Clanker have done very little in terms of bringing new users + “interesting content” to Farcaster..

They most certainly have filled the bags of existing users.. which leads to very bad/biased takes around their efficacy re: growing Farcaster’s userbase

- Created 2 days ago, has hundreds of “followers” ✅

There are more than 21K accounts with 🎩 in their display names

Vast majority of said paid accounts should not be accounted for in DAU, as they do not represent unique users of the protocol

They exist merely to astroturf support for $degen, seeking to make the community appear larger than reality reflects

Ive only heard claims about degen onboarding users, which is well backed up by the data I’ve seen, unless you attribute it to frames?

Moxie I haven’t heard any claims about onboarding or retention

I also haven’t seen any claims about Clanker besides obvious spike of attention, which is hard to get confident about 22 days in.

Degen brought a ton of new users — degen & frames were the reasons for the bump Feb —April; clanker is definitely bringing attention back —some new, lots of revived

Why would this need to be an opinion? Have you looked at the data?

I am currently working to onboard a new user to FC today. She told me it feels very "dev-ish". She has a web3 marketing communications company. It would be good to have professional communicators on board.

Would help if the people who have giant tip allowances look for different people to tip or tried to tip newer users to get the hype up. 
Quit tipping their buddies so much. 🤣
Not complaining just the same accounts still over tip each other. The tip for tip helps restrict the number of tips but not the amount. 
No reason to tip someone over 30k degen every season. Seems excessive. 🤓

Can only speak from personal experience but usually there is a decent lag between the early adopters who will come to experiment and the broader community. The second is usually part of a later second wave that arrives after hearing about this first making money/ having success
