But did streaming bail out Blockbuster? Did smartphones bail out Nokia? Or did the Industrial Revolution bail out the monarchy?

The growth did come.
But so did the disruption.

Agree. With the printing press, the church lost power. 

With social media, the traditional media and the establishment parties are seeing a lot of disruption.
