Upcoming channel changes

We're *previewing* some upcoming changes so people 1) can understand and 2) provide feedback.

These changes are not launching yet. It will be a couple weeks. There will also be a bunch of communication to channel owners. 

After reading the entire doc, feel free to reply to with feedback or send me a DC. I've tried to answer a lot of common questions in the FAQ.

hoping that someone build's a tool for artists that can allow anyone who holds our art to be able to become members in our channels 🤞

they made frames immediately when they launched on fc but it seems the team lost interest in keeping up ☹️

they have collectors tab in their studio so i figured it’d be easy for them to create a frame since they already have the data of our collectors

So disappointed with manifold's lack of presence here

yeah but i have a lot more art outside of my hypersub and chasing everyone to subscribe to a "free" tier so that they can become a member is unrealistic for me. 

a more efficient way is to pool all contracts an artist has in one place (manifold already has this tooling) and then somehow create a frame(no clue how any of that works)

It will be enough to gate it through a nft ownership, like you can do with the group chats now, and with a Hypersub subscription for example you basically mint an nft, so I think it might be feasible..

huge undertaking if we have to do it manually until then. im not too worried atm though. im the only one who posts in /priyanka anyway 🤣 😂

I like that but also that limits to just ETH based art, no? Unless you also have SOL wallet connected... I guess we just manage the invites ourselves in the meantime?

yeah but we have to feed all our contracts into it and manifold has the tooling in place already for creating snapshots. i have art in collaborative collections too, where i just need to gate using one token within the collection.

I think it’ll be the same as anything else? Like hypersub, moxie fan tokens, art tokens, etc 

It’ll be a frame that checks token ownership and enables a button to appear to join channel, or something

that'd be fun! i've actually built this 2y ago, def ahead of market
