Modafinil is a class above caffeine. → Less addictive → More powerful and longer-lasting → Little to no impact on falling asleep (if taken early in the morning) → Alleviates sleep deprivation I don't understand why it requires a prescription while caffeine is available OTC.

I feel like it turns me into a robot. I don't recommend it for creative work, nor would I recommend doing it multiple days in a row. OTOH mixing it with psilocybin microdoses allowed high resolution retrieval of very distant memories. Nothing emotionally charged, just stuff I had completely forgotten returning easily

Glad I found this thread Taking modafinil regularly has positively impacted my mental outlook and life ♥️ I can only tolerate modest amounts of caffeine Modafinil is pain to source, and expensive, unfortunately

Does it have any long time effects on your body? Most of meds have. Don’t say that caffeine doesn’t affect you but pills affect you more, especially on the digestive system. So be careful in the long run

More complex and less understood. Caffeine has been coexisting in human development for likely 2000+ years. We don’t know the long term potential effects of Modafinil because it’s so new.

I work in medicine and can tell you that i have had a number of patients have negative reactions to modafinil/armodafonil. The most common negative reaction is anxiety attacks, second most common is Arrhythmias. Still not a bad medication if used properly

I had a doc prescribe for me once as an experiment, found it amazing for sustaining long periods of focus/flow state activation without any of the “speedy” physiological side effects of caffeine and other stimulants. Almost purely a cerebral boost. Would be great for intense periods of coding or technical writing.

I hit a tolerance wall with modafinil. After about 2 weeks it no longer had any effect at all. It was quite nice for the first week though.

Just don’t take more than you need, tolerance creeps up quickly. DYOR on legit sources too.

uh.. the main side effect is headaches. It also causes heart palpitations. I mean come on dude. What's nice about caffeine, alcohol is that we as a species have been taking it for milnea so the side effects are well known

I tried it once but my face started twitching. Also noticed (side benefit) it really suppresses appetite.
