Modafinil is a class above caffeine.

→ Less addictive
→ More powerful and longer-lasting
→ Little to no impact on falling asleep (if taken early in the morning)
→ Alleviates sleep deprivation

I don't understand why it requires a prescription while caffeine is available OTC.

I feel like it turns me into a robot. I don't recommend it for creative work, nor would I recommend doing it multiple days in a row. 

OTOH mixing it with psilocybin microdoses allowed high resolution retrieval of very distant memories. Nothing emotionally charged, just stuff I had completely forgotten returning easily

Yeah, modafinil is not great for creativity, but I don't see why making people feel like robots is a bad thing. That can be often helpful for knowledge workers.
