i've been comfortable spending anywhere between $50-175 on a traditional indian dress that i would probably wear 1-3 times before it goes out of fashion (or doesnt fit me anymore), but i refuse to spend more than $40 on a western dress that i would probably wear 10 times a year and more times than i can count before it goes out of fashion.

I guess the Indian traditional wear is more expensive because it has traditional work and all that stuff so you know you need to spend that much . Where as the western dresses are lesser expensive because it curates to larger mass . You can probably spend that much on western dresses (the only thing you d find different would be the brand name thats it) its basically buying Sabhyasachi vs First copy types …

BUT i only get that extra special feeling 1-3 times vs with a western dress it could be way more??

i haven’t felt like it for a long time (or ever) until ~2 years ago, but i would like to dress pretty when i go out to hang with friends too 🥺
