should I be getting any sort of confirmation when I mint

I was wondering the same (I didn't get any confirmation either)

After tapping mint the frame should say "Minted, now create your own"

If not feel free to click mint again (sometimes there are errors because of lots of traffic minting / 5 second frame timeout)
