should I be getting any sort of confirmation when I mint

I was wondering the same (I didn't get any confirmation either)

After tapping mint the frame should say "Minted, now create your own"

If not feel free to click mint again (sometimes there are errors because of lots of traffic minting / 5 second frame timeout)

Also note that it will mint to a privy wallet created for you, which you can access by logging in with your farcaster ID to the website
