Censorship resistance requires privacy.

How so, that is the package code is stored and verified on a distributed server network like Akash?

I mean onchain package versions, download URLs, content hashes, and signatures by maintainers.
Blockchains have all the desirable properties to carry software update data. Current software update mechanisms, even advanced ones like The Update Framework (TUF), lack resistance against new releases being censored away.

New version broadcast censorship is a real problem for privacy-critical software like say Tor Browser, where updates can be required to protect against malware and preserve one's privacy in case an old version has an exploitable bug.
