I think what you're trying to say here is that information must be meaningful and useful to the person receiving it. Right? Interfaces aren't the UI is just the way you are providing that information. (I could be way off)

I lean on Jef Raskin a fair bit: "The way you accomplish tasks with a product – what you do and how it responds – that’s the interface." In a previous life I broke this down into definitions of the user interface, the surveillance interface, and the human interface, and I guess I default to the latter by nature: "The way YOUR software helps you accomplish tasks with other software, that’s the human interface." Here we're thinking how YOUR Addresso helps you accomplish tasks with, for example, app[dot]safe[dot]global. Does this address your observation?
