The second choice is more true today IMO. Even 7 months ago I would have picked the second option. I am neither an ethereum insider or a Coinbase insider and I’ve felt welcome and think I’ve made an impact.

Yeah, I was a complete outsider when I first joined. Secret to "breaking in" is long-term value creation (ie. good memes, insightful casts, good code).
