I asked this question 7 months ago and would love to hear what everyone’s reactions and thoughts are today. Feel free to add a different option as well. Candor, honesty and kindness appreciated πŸ™

There is definitely a weird inner circle of casters with 10k+ followers who aren’t well known elsewhere, who as a result think they’re very important and special. That said, if someone new invests time and casts regularly, they can grow a following here.

The second choice is more true today IMO. Even 7 months ago I would have picked the second option. I am neither an ethereum insider or a Coinbase insider and I’ve felt welcome and think I’ve made an impact.

From occasional visits it feels much more like the former, but with more nuance than the two choices you've given.

my answer stayed the same, number two. Wrote this yesterday which I think is related (third sentence on and also replies). https://warpcast.com/les/0x3f668f01

#2 has been my experience since signing up. My personal sense of impact has been directly proportional to the amount of time and effort I put into casting. Some folk have been blessed by user onboardings, garner followings for building things, which consequently compounds. All of which are non-problems imo. 1/2

My experience has definitely been more of the second. As a non-coder on FC/WC for over a year now, some casts and conversations have been way beyond my understanding of crypto, etc., but the community here is great. Even without a huge following I still feel like a part of the group.

I'd vote #2: open & permissionless. Didn't really know anyone on this platform when I joined, I don't think there is a "secret inner circle." Casting in channels gives decent visibility and chance to make an impact imho.
