I'm sufficiently paranoid about security that my personal equipment is as vanilla as possible, I figure the highest volume systems from top vendors get the most security focus.

Even if they don't get the initial security focus (possible), sheer distribution unearths vulnerabilities and edge cases that would otherwise go unnoticed
