In reference to his visual imagination, Aldous Huxley notes in the Doors of Perception (1954): โ€œI am and, for as long as I can remember, I have always been a poor visualizer.โ€ โ€œWords, even the pregnant words of poets, do not evoke pictures in my mind.โ€ And the fact that Aldous could write so vividly and in turn invoke such vivid imagery in my mind, and yet he sees none of it blows my mind.
