days 3-4: magic kingdom + barbecue with our cuban fam our last two days were bittersweet. mainly bc whenever i see lana i remember how much i miss her. and my husband hadn’t seen his uncle and cousins in over a decade. this was my first time meeting them it’s hard to live so far away from the people we love💔 btw my favorite part of disney is all the slow rides with the animatronics. i can go on a roller coaster anywhere but there’s something so special about seeing all of the artistry and craftsmanship that went into these rides from the 70s-90s.

Totally agree, re slow-rides. I used to live/work near the Anaheim, CA Disneyland back in the day. Favorite old-world animatronics historical ride for me was the "It's a Small World" oldmill style boat ride. (we used to skip out of the office sometimes and take meetings "on the rides" when it was a slow-day, which we could tell via the "new at the time" park person density reporting app)
