If you had to convince folks that the fediverse / activitypub isn’t decentralization and all the perils of the former, what stories/anecdotes/tech arguments work best?

Recently I've been using the arguments out of @cdixon's mouth, at around (16:04,↓link) leading to the observation historically “the [network] architecture is destiny”

Appeals to history are what I normally fall back on.

But to be fair - I'm never trying to convince someone of this stuff...
