Never seen a show more stupid than Foundation

Is it really that bad? The books were quite okay. But I got used to the fact that all shows rn SUCK so bad I can’t even watch anything any more. Where are all the talented writers? 🥲🥲🥲

I so wanted it to be good!
It should have been amazing.

Yet, it just stuck me as epicly expensive, spectacularly rendered CG cringe.

Spending this much money on that beloved IP/artwork means we'll now have to wait years before the next production company gets a stab at doing something amazing with it.

Like Dune did.

It feels like this Apple prodn ("we need a massive streaming hit now & have endless $ to spend on it") has a similar kind of problem as "massively overfunded startup" damage.

That massive budget should have translated into "amazing ⚱️" - but for whatever "over funded" damage SNAFU, it just didn't.

The funniest thing about this is that if people who actually read the books just watched the last scene of S2, the first thing they would not understand is the protagonist

"Wait who was Gaal Dornick again? Oh THAT dude? What's he still doing here?"

Dune just so happens to be a glimmer of hope in these dark times. I’ve lost hope after Netflix cancelled the OA and then completely wrecked the Witcher that anything along the lines of sci-fi/fantasy can be good these days.
