Actually, you probably don’t. A rat exhibiting traits for lack of fear is commonly infect with toxoplasma gondii, which is the parasite responsible for crazy cat lady and potentially linked to schizophrenia. The parasite needs rats to be fearless so that they can run out into the open and ideally be eaten by a cat where it can finish its reproductive cycle

I totally loved the depth of the (fictional) mycology sketched out in HBO series “The Last of Us” … which they called Cordyceps, and I’m pretty sire is based on your example of Toxoplasma Gondii. You’re right! If fearless rat is getting his mojo from zombie fungus, no! I don’t want that!! I want natural, inner strength, fearless ratty 🐀
