I return to these often.... Thomas Sopwith's geological models - representations of geological structures in laminated woods including topographic representations of valleys & ridges, strata & fault surfaces. This are modern remakes. The originals were made in the mid 1800s.

Thanks! Yes, dioramas, models and miniatures were all a big part of that book. Incidently I have a new piece addressing scale invariance and dimensionality in geology to be released next week as part of a curated exhibition on objkt and I expect it to form part of a new series.
