Farcaster's open and permissionless data model is great while we're still a small, high-trust community. 

But it's fundamentally at odds with privacy. 

I'm not sure we've fully internalized the consequences of having a permanent history of our speech tied to our financial records.

Is permanent? I thought if you dont pay, old casts will disappear. Which I see as a feature

They « can » disappear, but nothing prevents anyone from storing the entire historical data.
