Animals. As a concept, they become less prominent in your mind as you age (exception being pets). A 12 year old is clearly much more likely to be thinking about e.g. zebras, orca whales, tigers, etc. than a 30 year old. Lesson in there.

Iโ€™m watching this North Face YouTube video, these ppl are skiing in Antarctica, bunch of penguins show up on the screen. I realize, man I havenโ€™t really thought about penguins in a long time. Pudgy Penguins donโ€™t count because they donโ€™t feel like penguins, they feel more like generic cartoon anthropomorphic characters.

I think about penguins all the time. I adore them. I seek them out at aquariums. When I was a small child I wanted one as a pet. My parents said no because they needed snow. Then I got the internet. I found out there are penguins that live in hot weather climates. It made me distrust everyone. And I became obsessed with acquiring a penguin. For now, I just buy charms and plushies, but one day, I will fund a penguin rescue ;)
