Experiment: Hiding power badges Power badges will be hidden on Warpcast for a week. We’re running this experiment because: 1. New user find it hard to get follows due to “power badge bias” 2. Power badge isn’t being used much in Warpcast anymore.

Once upon a time, a power badge was needed to show up in conversations. That's no longer the case - Warpcast uses machine learning to find low quality content and move it into "Show more" It's good for users because the machine learning models a lot more accurate than the power badge was.

It doesn't make sense to keep showing the power badge if its not being used by Warpcast, which is why we want to test this change. Power badge data will still be available to Dune, Neynar etc while the experiment is running.

This is honestly really awesome and should benefit a lot of new folks who have been struggling. But as the spam filtering gets more aggressive, how do I help friends who are labeled as "spammy" and being put in the "Show More Replies" bucket? It disproportionately affects my friends using translators (especially Chat GPT) because they aren't native English speakers. If I engage with them (liking and commenting) does that help the algorithm see the differently? Is there an official appeals process to get the label removed?
