One of my favorite things about Japan is cherry blossoms, but did you know you can see them twice a year? Fuyuzakura (winter sakura) are varieties that also bloom in the fall/winter and are a special treat because they are rare. It makes it even better when you stumble across one! Taken in Hakone, December 2024.

These are not winter blossoms….they aren’t this fluffy. This looks like a variety of spring ones but there are 50 major ones! These look like Kanzan at first glance. They are very very pink and grow in clusters! I love them.
