still feeling weird about how channels work on farcaster. a few things that make it frustrating: Β· memberships lock exploration: instead of encouraging me to explore new channels, the membership system made me stick to the ones i'm already in. Β· managing pinned frames is annoying: i need to keep the frame pinned in /groupies so people can join, meaning i can't pin other casts to the channel for visibility. Β· notifications are easy to miss: i never check the channel notifications tab, a friend had to message me to finally see and accept their invite. Β· posting friction: tried posting in /nature yesterday but wasn't able to since i wasn't a member β€” the process of going to the channel, finding how to join, then coming back to write the cast again is too much, so it's easier to cast no-channel instead. am i doing something wrong here, or is this a shared experience? i miss the old farcaster, where i could just explore and post freely in different channels.

Based take I agree. Copying in @pichi bc she has some Gud takes/consolidates sentiment My biggest is the last one about /nature. Posting in channels should always be simple. At a bear min you can post there and once approved it is shown in the channel instead of no feed

I totally thought @jonathancolton had a join frame. Maybe they changed it because of the channel token launch? The bots tend to come out for anything token related.

It’s bigger than just /nature . Take my own catwalk channel. I want people to post but get so much trash. Ideally let anyone post and once approved by me or a mod then it’s posted into channels feed Before that it’s just on your own personal feed but gets moved once approved by the mod

Some great folks are working to solve this problem. I just can’t tell how many of us are still really bullish and all in on channels and how many have moved on from frustration. I think channels are the key to discovering new users with common interests. Organize discovery rarely happens.
