Channel Changes and You (a thread) MAJOR Channel changes take place today, Oct 4, around 1:00 PM PDT. If you are a host, you should be studying the Notion notes about channels and be ready to invite moderators, human or bots, to your channel and decide how you will invite new members going forward. As a channel user, what happens at 1 PM will be different for every channel you are casting in. If you are NOT invited to join a channel and become a member, you won’t be able to cast into the channel. The Warpcast UX will change and you will be stopped from casting. You will have read access to all channels. If you reply in a channel that you aren’t a a member of, you are labeled as spam inside the channel and your replies go to the “show more replies” bucket unless a moderator or the original caster engages with your post. The UX will not stop you from replying. If you don’t like how a channel is set up, make your own channel. There are over 13,000 channels on Farcaster. Find your tribe.

Excuse me so for example im not joining to this channel and i reply here. Am i under show more aka spam? This spam only happen because im not in same channel as you (the caster). Wont affect my rank or other things outside this right?

Correct. Channel replies should no longer affect the spam algorithm. So I’d be more careful replying to casts that are NOT casted in a channel if you aren’t mutual follows.

I see. So this will also reduce ppl from spam label. As long the cast is inside channel. And reply outside channel but to Mutual follower.
