Purple’s goal is to proliferate and expand the Farcaster protocol and ecosystem.

I’m a bit confused about the funding request for FarCon.

I would love to support the conference, but it’s unclear how the money will be used. 

Is it for venue costs? Hackathon prizes? What is the bit about travel and childcare? 

I would suggest including more detail and reapplying.

farcon is rapidly evolving as we try to accommodate the 800+ applications we have received and curate an experience that will achieve the goal of convening, connecting, and celebrating the farcaster ecosystem. 

nearly impossible to nail down specifics rn and imo ineffective use of time when other prios at stake.

if its a slush fund, thats ok, just say so

i don't expect a detailed budget, but the framing of the prop was confusing for me personally, especially with the curveball at the end that implied it would be used to cover personal travel costs for (some?) people which seems like a non sequitur

what do you mean? 

would you rather us wait to submit the proposal until we are 1 month out from FarCon and are able to have a more granular budget? if yes, that's good feedback.

we viewed this as an ask for general startup costs vs. specifics. that's on us if we chose the wrong framing.
