in my experience, women are much better at this than men lots of aesthetic shaping behaviors like moodboarding, browsing pinterest, or shopping are underdeveloped in many men who see these as inherently feminine actions

Agree with this on a scale. But as a counter argument, most of creative directors of fashion brands are men.

I think I agree with you overall. I would link style and aesthetics with empathy. I believe that women have a stronger tendency to be empathetic. Men on the other side tend to be rational and have a stronger logical inclination.

I wonder sometimes if we didn't label such activities are feminine or masculine, what kind of distribution would we see of people doing these tasks. Like what if we just pursued what interested us and not what society dictated.

I know both men and women who are great at moodboarding. Having both perspectives simply opens up more possibilities which yields better results.
