good friend of mine was entrepreneurial early on -- joined a startup as an early employee but it didn't work out, company folded, etc

joins google after, now has been stuck there for 10+ years. Every time I bring it up, it's just "I gotta take care of my family"

True. But I was taken aback by the notion of carbohydrates addiction. I've never heard of anyone addicted to fiber or starches for instance. I think sugar is the only addictive carb in the lot :)
