Thanks for providing a concrete list of ongoing projects that fit the ideals. 

I'm curious to hear more about what it will take for ZK-proofs to become ready for consumer applications. What ~specifically~ is preventing this today? 

Lack of software packages? Fundamental CS problems? Developer awareness?

tooling needs time imo. the industry standard language circom is pretty low level. a higher level language noir is now in beta but still lacks some of the libs / battle testedness of circom. proving times are still pretty high for more complex usecases.
