After 4+ years, I still find it strange / amusing there’s a group of people still here who somehow think Varun and I are not actually interested in building a protocol and it’s all a ruse to do a rug pull a la 2014 Twitter.

during the bright moments roadmap, we occasionally ran into a type of person that seemed to take perverse pleasure in negging our team 

it was so strange to me. i had never experienced this type of person in my life before: perpetually negative, argumentative, and incredibly outspoken about the smallest issues

around that time, i found this pg essay that described the phenomenon which helped me understand the archetype, but it was still a bizarre experience
