I like IMDb ratings. 0-10. Single decimal. Nothing gets a 10. Best movie of all-time is a 9.3. Most things are in the 5s 6s or 7s which are roughly ok, good, and great. 8s are few and excellent. Decimals make a difference as a 7.9 is quite different from a 7.0. Decimals encourage you to use some gut feel beyond logic.

I'm a strong proponent of the 4-point rating system. It forces an opinion (there is no middle) and only allows for one level of precision. 1 = strong no 2 = weak no 3 = weak yes 4 = strong yes

This reminds me of Tim Ferris (I think) who asked people to rate things out of 10 but you couldn’t say 7 or 8
