I like IMDb ratings. 0-10. Single
decimal. Nothing gets a 10. Best movie of all-time is a 9.3. Most things are in the 5s 6s or 7s which are roughly ok, good, and great. 8s are few and excellent. Decimals make a difference as a 7.9 is quite different from a 7.0. Decimals encourage you to use some gut feel beyond logic.

I'm a strong proponent of the 4-point rating system. It forces an opinion (there is no middle) and only allows for one level of precision.

1 = strong no
2 = weak no
3 = weak yes
4 = strong yes

love the rejection of the 10 point system

This reminds me of Tim Ferris (I think) who asked people to rate things out of 10 but you couldn’t say 7 or 8
