In primary school, we had poetry reading. I had the best grades of the class. Yet, as I had behavioral issues and was constantly disrupting class, the teacher didn’t like me. At the end of last year in primary school he told my father: “Mr. Gervois, I have been teaching for 40 years, your son is the worst behaved student I ever had”

Went to a wonderful dinner yesterday evening. I didn’t feel out of place. Could actually have conversations. I generally avoid parties as I’m extremely afraid of social interactions. There was a political science professor who brilliantly reminded us that the United Kingdom really invented democray and more importantly the concept of democratic practice in public institutions. He has been teaching for 45 years. I saw him having three glasses of white wine in rapid succession, while keeping his ability to talk clearly. I barely touched my generously served glass of wine.

I see a lot of people susing the term “anon” recently, and I had no idea what it means. Just googled it. I learned this morning, in my bed, that it means “anonymous”.

There are a lot of words in the contemporary English language that I don’t understand, and yet I don’t have the courage to ask. In an average conversation with. Native English speaker, I get between 85% to 95% of the meaning.

Spoke to a very famous professor (and serial inventor) at MIT today about some ideas I'm having. He asked if I've been using ChatGPT to work on ideas. I replied,"No, I don't really use LLMs like that at the moment, I prefer to rely on my own creativity..." He responded, "Give it up my friend." And with that ended any remaining semblance of raw human creativity.
