Now it appears to be an app to record podcasts asynchronously

They’ve completed removed the social graph component from the app. 

It’s just a recording utility now, no longer a place to meet other people.

Huge respect for their relentless iterations 🫡

Not a bad idea, but probably too late. 

FWIW, Spotify acquired Anchor, a similar podcast creation and hosting service, in 2019 for around $340 million (along with Gimlet Media). 

And rightly so: it had brilliant execution in almost every way. Its timing was spot on, too.
