They are inevitable due to the globalizing technology we have. People consume a wider variety of media so they’re ideologically further from their geographic neighbors. More digital assets and economic opportunities are available to people so they don’t have to be tied to one specific locale economically. Not everyone will be a network citizen, but there will be network states everywhere.
