The ̶t̶e̶l̶e̶v̶i̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ computer screen is the retina of the mind's eye. Therefore, the ̶t̶e̶l̶e̶v̶i̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ computer screen is part of the physical structure of the brain. Therefore, whatever appears on the ̶t̶e̶l̶e̶v̶i̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ computer screen emerges as raw experience for those who watch it. Therefore, ̶t̶e̶l̶e̶v̶i̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ the computer screen is reality, and reality is less than the ̶t̶e̶l̶e̶v̶i̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ computer screen ~ Brian O'Blivion in Videodrome, David Cronenberg, 1983

Ha nice. I've been working my way through all the Croneberg films recently beginning with my faves he made in the 90s - Existenz, Naked Lunch and Crash. Love them. Love his style and his fierce desire to create something different.

I still remember when I saw Crash for the first time (I was maybe to young at the time) !! Crazy movie. Existenz is really nice to. But I guess I never watched Naked Lunch. I have the Burroughs' book, and tried to read it a couple times, but I always end up giving up halfway through 😅 (maybe not even halfway). . Not from the 90s, but the 2007 one "Eastern Promises" is amazing to!

I love them all, and many of his films require two or three watches. I really enjoyed Naked Lunch and esp the way the director incorporated aspects of Burrough's life into the script, a nice touch that got around the unfilmability of the novel alone. If I had to choose one of his movies it would be Existenz. It's a really fine movie with a brilliant twisted plot. Thanks for the tip on Easter Promises. Haven’t seen that one, so will line it up! 🙏

Well, 'easter promises' is a normal movie, compared to the ones from 80s and 90s. It's a mafia movie, but a really great one. . Now I feel I need to watch again Existenz, it has been a while since I watched it. . The Scanners is a weird one, also low budget.
