Forms (Quayola and Memo Akten,2011) https://www.memo.tv/works/forms/ "Series of studies on human motion, and its reverberation through space and time. Exploring extrapolation techniques to sculpt abstract forms, the work visualizes hidden relationships between the body and its surroundings The project investigates athletes; pushing their bodies to their extreme capabilities, their movements shaped by an evolutionary process targeting a winning performance. Traditionally a form of entertainment in todays society with an overpowering competitive edge, the disciplines are deconstructed and interrogated from an exclusively mechanical and aesthetic point of view; concentrating on the invisible forces generated by and influencing the movement."

Onion Skin (Olivier Ratsi, 2013) https://www.ratsi.com/works/echolyse-series/onion-skin/ . Onion Skin is a graphical work about the re-composition of time and space through a game of perspectives, both of the exhibition space itself and that of the projection canvas. Built around a progressive structure, made up of 4 parts lasting 14 minutes in total, the piece plays on the principle of repetition and scale to create a physical and hypnotic experience that opens doors onto the hidden and untouchable. Onion Skin is augmented by a 5.1 sound broadcast that reinforces this impression of volume and space.

"The Janus Machine" Interactive Installation By Kyle McDonald, Zachary Lieberman, Theodore Watson, Daito Manabe. [2011] . “While sitting at the chair in front of the scanner you are bathed in structured light, allowing the shape of your profile to be digitized and archived. This portrait, an attempt to capture your likeness in three dimensions, is compared to a library of other portraits captured in the same manner. From these comparisons emerges an outline of the captured form: a playful perspective on your relationship to others, built from light, inviting you to explore further.” . https://vimeo.com/16197436 (u need to log in on vimeo to watch it 😬 !! ) . This was made just before the released of Kinect. Faces were scanned in 3D with a witchcraft technique called "structure light". A video projector would project lines patterns on the visitors faces, a camera would analize the patterns and extrapolate the 3d points.
