Why are apple products always much more expensive in Europe?

I mainly write code and read books. Sometimes I take pictures. I wish I’d write.

In the US you have to add sales tax that varies depending on your state.

The Mac mini in France is starting at 699€ that includes 118€ of VAT and other -> 581€ for Apple (excluding import taxes)

Not sure it can explain everything. 729€ is about $800 and if it includes a 20% VAT (highest in France that has highest taxes in the world) then it'd be about $666. Still see a paradox in the end - margin at Apple is crazy so if they did not think they could sell massively at this price in Europe they'd at least lower a little bit the price.
