how much are you comfortable spending? what i use in a very similar setup is https://www.samsung.com/us/televisions-home-theater/tvs/the-premiere/ but any ultra short throw will be a great bet

Gonna echo what @nicom said, a simple projector screen will improve the image quality a lot more than getting a fancier projector!

If you want it to be brighter, first use a screen fabric or screen paint instead of a regular wall. It changes everything. If you prefer a motorized screen, I advise you to get one of the Lumen brand.
